Male Menopause Symptoms:
Menopause
in men? Since when? Typical, we women have a problem and you men always want to
jump on the gravy train too. Can we women not have a little of something to
ourselves? After all it is only a myth that men go through the menopause anyway
isn’t it?
Women
get stressed, irritable and tired and all our husbands turn round and comment
about it being their hormones, but if the same happens to a bloke they call it
work related stress, money, financial, family worries or a mid-life crisis. But
is that the case or is it actually the case that they are going through a
genuine menopause like us women do? Let’s look at it a bit closer.

Andropause – Male menopause symptoms
The
male menopause is often called the Andropause; there is a genuine change in
hormones in men when the testosterone levels start to drop a little. This is a
natural aging process among men. The
world health organization have not taken much notice of the fact that men go
through the hormone changes in middle age like women, hence why the male
menopause still in some places around the world is classed as a myth.
The
name the Andropause comes from the fact that male testosterone is called
Androgen, that is why the doctors name the male menopause the Andropause. At
least men do not use the same name as us women, we have a little something to
ourselves even if it is only the name difference.
The
menopause and the Andropause are two completely different conditions, not
including the fact that one affects women and one affects men. With the
menopause, it halts the ability to have any more children when it comes to
women, but with men, they are still able to become a dad at 80 and 90 years of
age. Their sperm production never stops, needless to say the quality of the
sperm can drop a little, and there are less sperm per milliliter than there was
previously.
Another
difference between the menopause and the Andropause is that women tend to begin
the menopause and it all happens very physically and very quickly, it is quite
obvious that women are going through the menopause, but with a man it happens
at a much more laid back pace. There is not rush, it happens over a period of
years. It is always the same, men get it easy, and nothing changes does it?
There
are clinicians around the world who believe that the Andropause is not
acceptable as men can still reproduce where as women who have gone through the
menopause cannot reproduce. So then it cannot be a menopause in men that has
happened.
The
depression that women tend to suffer when they go through the menopause
sometimes occurs in men, but men are more stubborn when it comes to going to a
doctor to complain about anything let alone something as (they see it) trivial
as depression. But the thing is that depression can be a very serious subject
no matter who you are and what stage of life you are at.
So
now that you know that the Andropause is not a myth and it can genuinely happen
to you men out there, are you going to be brave and go and see a doctor and get
a thorough check up? Yes!
